Question :  Hello I am a NRI. My brother is working in bangalore. We are planning to buy a property in chennai. I need some clarifications: 1) Am I allowed to buy a property jointly with my brother`s name? 2) Whether the bank will give loan considering me as main applicant and my brother as co-applicant? Question :  Say I have a property worth 20 Lakhs which I bought in 2004 with a loan of 15 lakhs. I re-finance the loan in 2009 by way of a balance transfer for Rs. 30 lakhs as the property was then valued at Rs. 55 lakhs. Question 1) Can I claim interest / principal deductions on the new loan of Rs. 30 lakhs u/s 24 and 80C? Question 2) If I sell the property now, for calculating cost of acquisition, can I include the interest on Rs. 30 lakhs loan as well as the Rs. 15 lakhs loan terminated in 2009

Question :  I have a 30*40 site with B khatha in Bangalore. Is it worth to construct a house in it now or after getting A khatha? Which one is good?
